The benefit to participate in web forum communities
There are plenty of possibilities to communicate over Internet these days. E-mails, Instant messengers, chat rooms, etc. However, in terms of creating some content to which many people can contribute and from which many people can benefit for long time, the most valuable method is the web based forums or discussion boards.
We all know what a forum is and will not discuss neither its technical side, nor how to handle it.
The question will be: Is it worth to participate the forums and when? How one forum can be valuable? Here are some thoughts raised by these questions.
Learn from the other people discussions, find some needed information or get an answer to question. Most of the forums are specialized in specific market niche. Usually, there are plenty of people who are willing to share their experience and to help the other forum users. Getting answered questions almost as soon as they have been asked in the forum, we may save lots ot time, not to mention money now.
Add a link to your web site and eventually attract the other forum users to visit it. The link shall help also with the search engines to find the web site and to gather higher ranking. The links are usually placed in the forum users’ signature and there is an option to include this signature to every post made.
Build trust and earn new partners and customers answering questions placed by other forum users and participating their discussions. Many people use the forums to gather some preliminary information about the service they need or just for some recommendations asking which service provider to use ot which product to buy. Answering similar questions professionally, giving exact and sufficient information to the other people a trusted relationship could be build.
Be prepared: because the forums are naturally highly valuable places for advertising and placing links to web sites, they are often attacked by various Internet threads and spammers. Many people think that it is enough to make a few posts from time to time, to present their products or services, or just to place links to their web sites and just almost magically everybody will hurry to visit their web sites and to use their services. However, the internet change and the visitors change too. The people become more and more educated and immune to naive plain advertising. To make the most of the forums, it is necessary to be consistent and regular user who do not only consume but also contribute the community.
